Chessboard calibration

opencv-users mailing list
Hi,

I just started programming a little camera calibration tool and I am wondering why it seems to be recommended to perform corner detection on the raw camera image [1]. Isn't it more promising to run findChessboardCorners on an equalized image? Maybe even greyscale? In the sample, the conversion to greyscale is done only for cornerSubPix, when points are already detected. Also, the image isn't equalized.

Thanks,
Roland
