I have a question, does anyone have experience in grabbing image from high speed camera? I am using cvShowImage (using a different thread) to show each image captured by the callback of my camera and what I found is the frame rate of my camera changes and the speed of showing images to the screen became longer, into several milliseconds. I measure the frame rate by measuring the time between callback calls and I measure the time spent to call cvShowImage. My camera can reach up to 1700 fps.
Could anyone help me to explain what factor affect the framerate of my camera? this seems strange for me..

Hm, why do you want to display all pictures? I've been working with
high speed cameras and opencv but while I apply some opencv methods to
all pictures, I find it quite sufficient to only output part of the
full range of pictures (i.e. while loop querying only last *but not
next* picture, for display that is).
